48kHz Portable Ultrasonic Cleaner for Retainers, Dentures & Jewelry

I was a bit unsure because it’s quite compact, but it works really well. I’ve cleaned rings, chains and even metal watch parts with good results. The ultrasonic action reaches into small gaps easily. It’s simple to operate and doesn’t take up much space. Overall, a very practical purchase.

This machine works!! I tested it on the hardest job possible which is my very old genuine silver necklace, which I had bought 2 decades ago while I was travelling abroad. The necklace is a tribal style with intricate detailes and was almost black and unwearable. I wasn't expecting just water to be enough so I added detergents and soda bicarbonate. I set it on 10 minutes and was happy with the promising results so I repeated another 10 minutes The necklace now is wearable and clean though it still looks vintage but most of the black oxidationhas gone. The water was black afterward. For normal jewellery, it took 3 minutes, with detergents to bring them shiny as new.

This ultrasonic cleaner is small but seems well made and from my tests is an actual ultrasonic cleaner (There are a lot of fakes out there that just vibrate a little to make it look like they're working). Size wise it would take a watch or a retainer but nothing really bigger than that. There is a timer for three, six or nine minutes and the buttons are capacitive touch ones. Don't expect miracles and maybe use a dedicated cleaning solution with jewellery and it will do the job.

I received this ultrasonic cleaner recently and have been using it for two days to refresh a retainer and a few jewellery items that are difficult to clean manually. I wanted something that could reach into narrow gaps without scrubbing, and this has performed better than expected. Straight away, the build quality feels solid for its size. The tank is a proper formed metal basin with smooth seams, and the overall casing has no flex when handled. The lid has a tinted clear panel that allows you to see the cavitation during operation, and the hinge holds its angle without snapping shut. The control panel is simple, with firm buttons that register cleanly. During use, the 48kHz ultrasonic frequency produces a fine, high-density cavitation field. You can actually see the microbubbles forming in consistent waves rather than sporadic patches, which usually indicates good internal transducer placement. On a 6 minute cycle, the retainer came out noticeably clearer, especially around the inner grooves where plaque tends to sit. Metal items also showed improvement, with grime lifting out from around small joints and stone settings. The degassing function is a welcome addition. It pulls trapped air out of the water before the main cycle begins, which improves the contact between the ultrasonic waves and the items. Without this step, bubbles can cling to the surface and act as a barrier that reduces the cleaning strength. With degassing, the cleaning action feels more uniform. The built-in LED light is surprisingly useful. It highlights the agitation inside the tank so you can see if the water is circulating properly, which helps you position items more effectively. The three timing modes work well for different levels of soiling. I found the 10 minute cycle best for jewellery with more intricate detailing. A small con is the length of the mains cable, which could be slightly longer. It is manageable, but it limits how far from a socket you can place the unit. Despite that, it feels like a reliable and well-made product. The cleaning performance has been consistent over multiple runs, and for daily hygiene on retainers or small valuables, it offers a thorough and surprisingly efficient result.
